CANON HN2R Project at IFA Berlin
Canon Research France participated to The HomeNet2Run project and presented it at IFA exhibition from 29th August to 3rd September 2003.
IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) is an event that occurred every 2 years, in Berlin, Germany. Canon Research France participated at this exhibition on HN2R booth with his project’s partners.
HomeNet2Run project is a collaborative effort of several distinguished European companies and Research Institutes that aim to develop an end-to-end network architecture, standards and technologies to enable access and information, communication and entertainment services over any network to any devices at any time within the home.
The HomeNet2Run project is a research project running under the ITEA programme within the EUREKA framework with partners such as Grundig, Philips, Sony, Thomson.
Main CRF contribution to the HN2R Global Demonstrator was the HAVi Network Adapter: IEEE P1394.1 / HAViBridge.
IFA Exhibition event is one of world's largest consumer electronics exhibition, where we can see market trends and technological developments.
The IFA serves simultaneously as an attraction for the public, as well as a venue for introducing new products and placing orders.
The mix of participants is more and more international. This year well over half of all exhibitors were from abroad. Southeast Asian suppliers in particular are keen to become high profile participants.
The IFA is rounded off by a supporting program that includes the Technical-Scientific Forum (TWF), designed to give insights into the future of consumer electronics. The IFA Convention offers a range of accompanying congresses and conferences on aspects of current interest to the industry.
